The Fantasy Man's Week 6 Quick Updates

So it's Week 6 and your fantasy week starts in about 2 hours or so. Need to make a last minute decision? Maybe some of the fantasy football advice below will help.....

Arizona's Anquan Boldin is out, Detroit's Jon Kitna most likely out and not a great option anyway, Chris Chambers is doubtful with an ankle injury.

Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers, with a sprained right shoulder, will start this week. Obviously, he's not a great option to start.

It's looking like Kellen Winslow may be out on Monday as he remains hospitalized with an undisclosed illness. It's still not final yet so keep an eye on this situation. Even if he does play, you might want to find a healthier option for this week.

Matt Hasselbeck hasn't practiced all week and is most likely out. Charlie Frye will start in his place. Also, that means that you may not see a great game out of Bobby Engram or even John Carlson. This entire situation is dismal, but I'd stay away from most Seattle fantasy players if possible outside of Julius Jones. Then again, without a big passing game, Green Bay defense could concentrate on Jones all game making him a poor option this week as well. Potential star of the game, T.J. Duckett who could possibly get a few goal line carries!

Carson Palmer will not start today but is not totally ruled out. Regardless, he should be benched in your fantasy league. Ryan Fitzpatrick will start in his place and although every other fantasy outlet will say that T.J. Houzmanzadeh and Chad Johnson are not good plays, keep in mind that the Jets rank in the bottom 5 in pass defense this season. so I am not totally going to discount Houzamadaddy and Ocho!

I had to make a big decision today at TE. I have Seattle's John Carlson who I picked up in week 3 and he's been disappointing ever since. Then, I picked up San Francisco's Vernon Davis who someone desperately dropped and I actually drafted and stashed New England's Ben Watson. So who do I start? Davis has been a bust and Carlson has been poop since his big game in week 2. So, I went with Watson who has been injured all year but started last week and was targeted in the end zone. He's a big target and the Pats could use another receiving weapon to help out Matt Cassel. Plus, San Diego pass defense is terrible!

Marques Colston practiced this week but was limited. Word on the street is that he will play this week while recovering from a thumb injury. Even if he does play, if you have better options, it might be wise to keep Colston benched until he shows today that he can put up fantasy numbers. I'd only use Colston if you have no other options, like if you are forced to use Bryant Johnson or Patrick Crayton or someone like that.

Brian Westbrook has already been ruled out with fractured ribs! Pick up or activate Correll Buckhalter in his place but don't expect a superstar performance, San Francisco has a solid overall defense. Reggie Brown is also inactive leaving leaving Donovan McNabb with DeSean Jackson and Hank Baskett at the main WR options. This means you coule either upgrade Hank Baskett or even Kevin Curtis who could bust out as a one game wonder today. Again, San Fran pass defense is exceptional.
