Solid Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pick ups for Week 4

Quarterback
Trent Edwards, BUF
- The Bills play St. Louis this week and St. Louis stinks! Everyone has been talking about the 3-0 Bills and how Edwards could be a Pro-Bowler this year, so maybe it's time we start paying attention. The one stat that sticks out is the fact that Edwards has 3 TD's and only 1 INT in these first 3 games.

Running Back
T.J. Duckett, SEA - Seattle is hurting for a solid running game and Duckett stepped up last week and delivered 79 yards on 19 carries and 2 TD's. he also notched a TD the week before against a solid San Francisco defense. Duckett is on a bye week this week so he's someone you can sneak on your roster now. He was a highly touted rookie when he came out of college but he's never really had the chance to play full-time, so maybe the time is now!

Wide Receiver
James Hardy, BUF - It appears that Roscoe Parrish will be out this week when Buffalo meets St. Louis. We all know the St. Louis defense is week and rookie James Hardy looks like he'll step up as the #3 receiver for Trent Edwards. Hardy stands in at 6'5" so he's certainly a huge red zone threat! If anything, maybe you'll catch lightning in a bottle and he'll catch a touch down pass.

Tight End
Jerramy Stevens, TB - The 6'7" Stevens can realistically be Matt Hasselbeck's new favorite target as his current receivers blow! Last week he had 61 yards and a TD on 5 catches, but most importantly, he was targeted 10 times. Just be careful, Stevens can play a decent game and then disappear like a fart in the wind!

The Fantasy Man's Quick Week 3 Updates

Here are some quick updates for today's games....

As of 12:23PM, Fox's Jay Glazer reported that Minnesota RB Adrian Peterson will play today and said that when asked if he could return the first kick off of the game, AP said he is "100% ready to go". Make sure he's activated!

According to ESPN as of 11:49AM, Chicago WR Devin Hester is OUT today with a rib injury! Chicago WR Brandon Lloyd makes for an interesting pick up today. RB Laurence Maroney is OUT today. Make sure both of these guys are benched!

Ryan Grant is probable but he practiced and they say he's ready to go. "He looked good," McCarthy said. "I thought he had more bounce in his step. I thought he looked better this week than last week."...... according to www.NFL.com . Good thing the game is against Dallas Sunday Night! Even so, Grant is a great buy low candidate if you can pick him up in a trade. Even if he falters tonight (I hope not, I have him activated on two teams), his value will sink even lower and you'll be able to get him dirt cheap next week.

The is a good chance that Justin Gage may not play today after suffering a groin injury in his sleeper performance last week. They haven't ruled him out yet but if you have other options, I wouldn't depend Gage. Maybe WR's like the Bills James Hardy or the Titans #2 man Brandon Jones could be decent sleeper plays this week.

A slight sleeper this week could be TE Ben Troupe who was just signed to the Oakland Raiders to help out Jamarcus Russell and giving him a more reliable target. This might not mean great things for Zach Miller so if you have Miller activated, you might want to think twice. I'm not saying to run out there and pick up Troupe, who probably won't help your fantasy team, but at least keep an eye on the situation.

If you are asking me, no, I would not start New England QB Matt Cassel just yet! I know they Pats are the bomb and they play the Dolphins this week, but I still don't trust Cassel yet as I haven't seen enough. He's certainly in a system where he can succeed, but I need to see a few more decent games from him before I go crazy. This also goes for all of you in survivor pools who pick the Pats to beat the Dolphins! I smell upset!

Carolina WR Steve Smith will play today! If you stashed Smith on your roster, make sure he's active!

I just have a feeling, but I think Dallas WR Patrick Crayton will catch a TD pass or two tonight vs. the Packers! Just a hunch, no real data to back that up. I just have a feeling!

Solid Waiver Wire Add/Drops for Week 3

Here are some solid Waiver Wire Add/Drops for Week 3!

Quarterback
Jason Campbell, WAS - After everyone dropped him after his week 1 performance which was only "okay", Campbell busted out 321 yards and a TD this past week thanks to a big gain by Santana Moss! Still, Campbell is big in size with a great arm, decent wide receivers, and a ton of potential. He's a solid pick up that you can stash for a bye week later on which will give you a few more weeks to evaluate his talents.

Running Back
Michael Pittman, DEN - In a platoon with Selvin Young but Pittman has 3 TD after the first two weeks. Young could easily get the nods the next two weeks but since no one else is a believer, might as well take a shot at Pittman if you need to fill a spot.

Wide Receiver

Brandon Lloyd, CHI - Lloyd reeled in 66 yards on 5 receptions on Sunday and has been targeted a total of 13 times in the first two games. With Devin Hester's nagging injury, Lloyd could be the guy that steps up over the next few weeks. When he was first drafted, he was a guy everyone thought could be a superstar, had great hands. He's only 27, but look at the depth chart....who's better? Marty Booker? Or 5'9" Rashied Davis? Lloyd has some potential and deserves a bench spot if you have the opening.

Tight End
John Carlson, SEA - First of all, the Seahawks have NOBODY at wide receiver right now and Carlson has been the beneficiary of that catching 10 pass for 130 total yards. He's 6'5", 250lbs., and he's only 24. Just the fact that he's been Matt Hasselbeck's favorite target the first two weeks tells me there is more to come. I actually dropped Alge Crumpler this week to pick up Carlson!
